Mahmud hopes Soumya will get back form soon

Sports Reporter, Dhaka

Abahani head coach Khaled Mahmud Sujon bats for opener Soumya Sarkar, stating that an innings will change him a lot and change his everything. Sujon believes that Soumya is such kind of player will make more runs on England condition in the ensuing ICC Cricket World Cup, England and Wales-2019.

“There are many more pressures in Premier League. As Soumya is not in runs, he is under pressure. The squad has been announced and he is in there. So, there is a pressure on him,” said Khaled Mahmud Sujon, who is executive director in Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

“But I think, I have been watching him since his childhood, he is a hand-eye coordinated player. I saw him sitting with gloomy mind after playing the match. There is nothing to be worried about it,” Sujon told media after concluding Super League match between Abahani Limited and Prime Bank Cricket Club at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.

“He will make more runs in World Cup. Soumya is such kind of talented players, he will make more runs on English condition,” he added.

Sujon took a swipe at Taskin Ahmed for his emotional revelation in public. He said that they had needed a bowler who can bowl in speed. But he said that his inclusion has been arrested by the selectors for his fitness because he is yet to fit fully.

“Every player wants to be selected in the World Cup squad. We know if he would be fit we will be our first-choice. There is no doubt about his capability,” he said.

“We had needed a bowler, who can bowl in speed. He did not get chance in the squad. For this, his mind will be gloomy. He will share it with his nearest person including his parents, brothers, sisters and friends,” he also said.

“But he discloses it in public. It's not right to do it in public. I always sees in different way. I saw him since very childhood. I don't feel well what he says in public. He has grown up,” he added.
