Two-day job fair begins at RU Mar 13
CORRESPONDENT, RU

A two-day job fair organised by Rajshahi University Career Club titled ‘RUCC Job Fair-2019’ will begins on the premises of Sheikh Russel School on Rajshahi University (RU) campus on March 13. Around twenty companies are expected to take part in the fair on the campus. Arifuzzaman Lipu, president of RU Career Club, confirmed the information through a press conference held at teacher’s launch on Saturday. Besides, Prof Dr Lukshana Begum of accounting and information system was also present. RU Pro-VC Prof Ananda Kumar Saha and pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr Chawdhury Zakari will inaugurate the fair releasing balloons. Job seekers will be able to interact face to face with the officials of the corporate houses, as well as counselling, personality development sessions will be organised for the students, Shakil added.


EWU celebrates International Women’s Day

East West University (EWU) celebrated International Women’s Day with a colourful programme on EWU campus at Aftabnagar in the capital on Thursday, says a press release. In addition to a vibrant rally, EWU also arranged for a screening of the film titled ‘Itihas Konna’ by Shamim Akter. The event was followed by a discussion session. The main theme of the discussion was 'Think Equal, Built Smart, Innovate for Change'. It was attended by among others, Prof Haseena Khan, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka, Prof  Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, famous singer and Chairperson, Department of Dance, University of Dhaka, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Chief Executive, Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association, and Prof Fakrul Alam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of EWU. Prof MM Shahidul Hassan, Vice-Chancellor of EWU, delivered welcome remarks on the occasion. The programme was chaired by Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson, Board of Trustees of EWU and a former governor of the Bangladesh Bank. In the discussion, they highlighted the progress of women in Bangladesh in the last four and a half decades. While urging all to be vocal about women’s rights until equal participation was guaranteed in all cases.
