Trader found dead in Sylhet   

UNB, Sylhet

A trader was found dead inside his business establishment in front of Tajpur College beside Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Osmaninagar upazila on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Yusuf Ali, 24, owner of 'Mayer Doa', a shop of auto-rickshaw parts and son of Riasat Ali of Golapganj upazila.

Being informed by local people, police recovered the body of Yusuf Ali from his shop in the morning and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Medcial College and Hospital morgue, said SM Al Mamun, officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar Police Station. The head, ear and some portion of Yusuf's face was found smashed as he was hit by a hard object, said police. However, the motive behind the killing could not be known yet.

Watercolor workshop ends

BSS, Rangpur

A five-day workshop on watercolour ended with exhibition of art camp and distribution of certificates among participating artists on the Town Hall premises here on Thursday afternoon. Rangpur Fine Arts Academy (RFAA) organised the workshop participated by 30 watercolor artists of different ages from all over the district.

Noted watercolor artists Mintu Dey and Al Masum conducted different sessions in the five-day workshop as the main trainers.

On the concluding day, the participating artists exhibited their watercolor works at art camp arranged in front of the Shahityya Mancha on the Town Hall premises. A large number of common people of all ages thronged the exhibition of watercolor works of the participating artists at the art camp.

Presided over by Founder and Executive Director of RFAA Ahsan Ahmed, former General Secretary of Rangpur Shilpokola Academy Tauhidur Rahman Tutul attended the concluding function as the chief guest.

At the end, the chief and other invited guests distributed certificates among the participating watercolor artists.

Cleanliness drive launched

BSS, Rajshahi

Without hampering academic activities cleanliness drive on every Thursday has been launched in the city on Thursday like other parts of the country.

The campaign was inaugurated through a discussion meeting at Rajshahi Collegiate School in the morning.

Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Nazrul Islam addressed the programme as chief and special guests respectively with Headmaster of the school Dr Nurjahan Begum in the chair.
