Loko Natydal’s new play coming to stage in March

Loko Natydal, one of the most prominent theatre troupes in the country, is going to bring their new production ‘Amra Tinjon’ on stage in March this year. Based on the story written by noted poet-writer Buddhadeb Basu with the same name, the play ‘Amra Tinjon’ is planned and directed by Liaquat Ali Lucky.

The technical show of the play was staged on Wednesday at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital. The story of the play revolves around three friends named Bikash, Asit and Hitangshu. In the year 1927, they used to live in Purana Paltan. They were three inseparable friends who used to hang out together all the time. Reminiscing the old times at the present day, Bikash narrates their mutual love interest Antara, a girl who had lived in their colony. However, fascinated by the charm of her beauty, the trio gives her a name after Mona Lisa while debating over her similarity with the Leonardo da Vinci imperishable creation.
One day, the three friends meet Mona Lisa in the street accompanied by her father Dey Saheb. Mona Lisa’s father asks them to visit their house. Taking the opportunity, now the trio comes to meet Mona Lisa at her house, but can’t talk with her that much the way they expected.
One sudden day, Mona Lisa is diagnosed with typhoid and her parents seek help from the trio--Bikash, Asit and Hitangshu. Three friends now start staying at the house of Mona Lisa to take care of her. The story moves forward from this point and ends with a tragic incident.
The cast of ‘Amra Tinjon’ includes Liaquat Ali Lucky, Masud Sumon, Fazlul Haque, Azizur Rahman Sujon, Ananya Nishi, Swadesh Ranjan Das Gupta, Sonai Akter, Zia Udiin Shipon and Shishir Kumar Roy, among others. l
