Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni yesterday urged the students, guardians and teachers not to go for any sort of illegal means ahead of the forthcoming public examinations. “We are working for education as a challenge. The examinees must be attentive to studies. The examinations must be held in a free and fair manner and our expectation is that the examinees would make better results,” she said, addressing the 48th National School and Madrasa Winter Sports Competition as chief guest at the city’s M A Aziz Stadium here.

The education minister urged the teachers, students and guardians to attach equal importance to extracurricular activities like sports, music and other cultural events in educational institutions alongside academic activities to flourish the latent talents of the students. She also urged the teachers and guardians to be mindful to the students to keep them away from terrorism, militancy and drug.

Dipu Moni said the government has strengthened its efforts for checking question paper leak in the upcoming Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled to begin on February 2.
