‘TIB echoing with BNP-Jamaat releasing fabricated report’

BSS, Dhaka

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud yesterday alleged that Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has been echoing with the voices of BNP-Jamaat through releasing fabricated report without being observers in the last general election.

“There was no observer from TIB in the last general election. Those who had worked as observers in the election gave their opinion saying, the election was fair. But TIB, not being observer, is echoing with the voices of BNP-Jamaat through releasing fabricated report,” he said.

Hasan, also the AL Publicity Secretary, was addressing an extended meeting as chief guest at the party’s central office at Bangabandhu Avenue organised to make the AL’s victory rally successful to be held at the Suhrawardy Uddyan in the city today.

“As much as the victory was huge for Awami League, on the other hand the defeat of the opposition was landslide. Now after such landslide defeat, they (opposition) are demanding for dialogue to protect their face. Since the nose-dived leaders of BNP-Jamaat are at the ICU, now the TIB is providing oxygen to them,”

Chaired by President of Dhaka City South Unit of Awami League Haji Abul Hasnat, general secretary of Dhaka City South Awami League Shahe Alam Murad spoke at the extended meeting as the main speaker. AL leaders at various thana and ward level also spoke.

The information minister also urged the AL leaders and workers to be more dutiful and careful in their activities so that the people of the country continue their love and affection towards Awami League and reelect the party time and again.

“When duty comes, everyone needs to be polite and gentle side by side with the behavior of the winners should not create irritation for others. The way we’ve acted upon the directives of our party chief after the victory, we’ll have to continue that momentum. We’ll have to be more dutiful so that people love us and give us responsibility again,” he added.

Elaborating the surprising development works unleashed in the country over the last 10 years under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Hasan Mahmud said, “This country is now today a changed Bangladesh with the magical leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
