‘Poush Mela’ starts in Barishal

A three-day-long ‘Poush Mela’ organised by Barisal Rabindra Sangeet Sammilon Parishad in association with the other cultural organisations of the city began yesterday on Barisal Swaraswati Girls School premises. About 38 items of cakes including Bhapa, Kuli, Muli, Chitoi, Muithya, Saj, Chui, Duithya, Bora pitha were displayed in 18 stalls. The fair, inaugurated by Barishal City Corporation (BCC) Mayor Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah while Commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan Police Md Mosharef Hosen attended the programme as the special guest.

A discussion also held on the occasion with Mukul Das in the chair.  It was addressed among others by Badiur Rahman, Azmal Hosen Labu, Nazrul Islam Chunnu and others. Thousands of city residences enjoyed the event.
