Nat’l shuttlers avoid camp under Malaysian coach Aravind

Sports Reporter, Dhaka

Premier badminton players of the country refrained from attending the residential camp under Malaysian coach Aravind Varma at the Shaheed Tajuddin Wooden Floor Gymnasium yesterday.

In the very first day of the camp only four players were available as Shapla Akhter, Jhumar Amin, Minhaz uddin, Mohammed Shuvo joined in the training camp.

It was known that players are playing in the different local competitions across the country avoiding the camp.

Aravind Varma, who played for the state team not for the Malaysian national side, experienced with seven years playing career and five-year experience in coaching, had trained players of several countries including Pakistan, Cambodia, Iran and few other teams.

Bangladesh Badminton Federation (BBF) called 13 shuttlers including five women players for the camp.

Amir Hossain Bahar, general secretary of  BBF stated to the reporters yesterday that though players always complain with different issues including coaching,  but now they are not showing any interest to join the coaching camp.
