deaths of 5 ex-MPs, noted personalities

JS adopts condolence motion

Parliament yesterday unanimously adopted a condolence motion expressing profound grief at the demise of five former MPs and some noted personalities, reports UNB. Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury moved the condolence motion in the House at the beginning of the 23rd session of the 10th parliament. The five late former members of parliament are freedom fighter Shah Azizur Rahman, freedom fighter Sadir Uddin Ahmed, Language movement hero Shah Md Abdur Razzak, Abdul Gani and Shah Mostanjidul Haque Khizir.

The noted personalities are accused in Agartala conspiracy case and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's close aide MA Samad, former Navy chief Rear Admiral (retd) Musharraf Hussain Khan, educationalist, language movement hero and one of the organizers of the Liberation War Dr Safar Ali Akanda, Penal Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Osman Gani, legend brand song musician Ayub Bachchu, Awami League presidium member Kazi Zafarullah's mother Kazi Zebunessa Begum and Indian veteran journalist and author Kuldip Nayar.
