World Mental Health Day Observed at EWU

The Department of Social Relations of East West University (EWU) observed World Mental Health Day through various programme on its EWU campus at Aftabnagar in the capital on Wednesday, says a press release.

The programmes included a seminar, a poster exhibition as well as awareness campain.  Prof Md Mobarak Hossain Khan, chairperson, Department of Social Relations and Rubayat Kabir, senior lecturer of the same department, gave presentation in the seminar.

They outlined the scenario of mental health and well-being of EWU students based on recent survey conducted on 670 undergraduate students from various departments.

The main focus of the survey was to assess the mental state of students. Prof Fakrul Alam, Pro-Vice Chancellor, EWU was the chief guest of the seminar. Dr Rafiqul Huda Chaudhury, member, Board of Trustees of EWU, and Professor of the Department of Social Relations, presided over the event.

IU extends online application deadline for admission seekers

Kushtia: The authorities of the Islamic University (IU) have extended the date of its online application process for first year honours courses under 2018-19 academic sessions.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the central admission test committee with IU Vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari in the chair, said IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif on Thursday. According to the decision, admission seekers can register themselves till October 12. Earlier the dateline was October 10.

The admission tests will begin on November 1 and will continue till November 4, he added. Details information about the online application process and admission test procedure is available on the university website at www.iu.ac.bd.
