No one wants movement before polls, says Quader

UNB

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday said the people of the country do not want any movement before the national election, reports UNB. "Ten years have passed by...in which year the movement will be waged? Will it happen in one month? People are now in the 'house of election', no one wants any movement," he said.

He said this while addressing a rally in SR Square area of Kanraphuli upazila as part of electioneering. Terming BNP-Jamaat's movement a 'rumour movement', Quader, Quader said, "Rumour terrorism is still active. We'll have to resist the terrorism. People would no longer respond to movement." BNP had failed in the quota reform movement, and then it intruded into the safe road movement but failed again, he further said. He asked his party men to behave well with general people and remain united for a positive outcome in the next general election.

AL presidium memberAbdul Matin Khasru, joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, publicity andpublication secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud and organising secretary Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel were, among others, present. Addressing another rally in Cox's Bazar, Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, warned the party men against conflict, saying action will be taken against those who will act against boat symbol.

Mentioning that the popularity of the party leaders have been tested, he said party chief Sheikh Hasina will nominate those who are enjoying more popularity.
