He said this while visiting overall activities of traffic police at Shahbagh in the capital marking the month-long awareness campaign started from September 4 and to be continued over the month. “It would be tougher for police alone to bring discipline in the traffic management system without creating awareness among the people on not to violate the traffic rule,” he also said.

The DMP chief has vowed to take action against police personnel if they are found involved in traffic rule violation. Among others, Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Md Akhteruzzaman, President of Dhaka University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, DU Proctor Prof Golam Rabbani, City Planner Prof Shamsul Haque, Columnist Syed Abul Maksud and Chairman of Nirapad Sarok Chai (We demand Safe Road) Ilias Kanchon, were present on the occasion.
