No longer in opposition bench in JS, says Ershad

UNB

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad yesterday said his party no longer wants to remain as the opposition party in parliament, reports UNB. "We want to go to power this time. We don't want to sit in the No 2 chair of parliament," he said. Ershad, a former military ruler, came up with the remarks while visiting the venue of Jatiya Party's Saturday's joint meeting at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh. He said Saturday's meeting will demonstrate that Jatiya Party has gained strength to go to power. "We're ready to go to power." The Jatiya Party chief also urged his party leaders and activists to get united ahead of the upcoming general election.
