‘The Nun’ hits Star Cineplex along with US release today

‘The Nun’, an American gothic supernatural horror film, hits the screens of Star Cineplex of Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in the capital along with its US release today. Making the film fifth movie in the Conjuring Cinematic Universe, ‘The Nun’ is a spin-off of 2016’s ‘The Conjuring 2’. Directed by Corin Hardy, and written by Gary Dauberman, from a story by Dauberman and James Wan. ‘The Nun’ stars Demián Bichir, Taissa Farmiga, Bonnie Aarons, Ingrid Bisu and Jonas Bloquet, among others.

The story of the film is set in 1952 right after WWII, when a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in ‘The Conjuring 2’ with a piercing roaring sound, sharp teeth and staring green eyes, as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.

‘The Nun’ was scheduled to be released in the United States on July 13, by Warner Bros. Pictures. In February, it was announced that the film’s release date would be pushed back to September 7. On June 13, a teaser trailer was released.
