SUST reopens today after Eid vacation

The academic activities at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) resume today after the Eid-ul-Azha vacation.

The university went on the Eid vacation on August 19, said its registrar Ishfaqul Hossain.

Meanwhile, the university students have started returning to their dormitories, he added.

JU classes resume today

SAVAR: The regular classes and examinations in Jahangirnagar University (JU) will be resumed today after 13 days vacation of Eid-Ul-Azha.

‘Though official activities of the university already started from August 29, the regular classes will start from Monday’, JU Deputy Registrar (Acting) Rahima Kaniz said.

AIUB teacher-student delegates visit Japan

A total of nine students of American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) will visit Japan from September 5 to 18, says a press release.

The team, led by Dr Md Taufiqul Islam Mithil, head and associate professor of department of social science, will visit Japan as part of an agreement between AIUB and Yoshy Iwaki, under the Yoshy cultural exchange programme.

The students are Sapnil Chowdhury, Antara Sarker, Jannat Ara Nisha, Khalid Ibne Hasan, Somaiya Akanda Anchal, Fariha Hossain Mithila, Fabiha Yesmin, Abrar Shariar Bin Asad and SK Julker Nyne Jameeu. During the tour, the team will visit several industries, engineering and IT related offices of Japan and attend seminars and cultural shows.  

Prior to the departure, the AIUB delegation met the vice-chancellor of AIUB Dr Carmen Z Lamagna at her office recently.

ASM Shamem appointed new AUB alumni director

The authority of the Asian University of Bangladesh (AUB) has appointed ASM Shamem, assistant professor of English, as director of Alumni of AUB, says a press release.

All the Alumni of AUB are requested to connect with the director and stay in touch with AUB family.
