DU wins Nat’l Collegiate Programming Contest

Dhaka University (Epinephrine) became champion in the two-day IUBAT National Collegiate Programming Contest (NCPC-2018) that ended in the capital on Saturday, says a press release. BUET (Awww!) became first runner-up and Dhaka University (zuccbot.exe) became second runner-up in the contest. Eight winner teams have been selected from 8 divisions of the country and one as the best girls’ team. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DCSE) of IUBAT hosted this year’s contest while ICT division and Bangladesh Computer Council remained as organisers.

IUBAT NCPC-2018 was inaugurated by Zuena Aziz, secretary of ICT Division. In total 447 contestants of 149 teams from 72 universities, 2 colleges and 1 polytechnic including 3 teams of female contestants participated in the contest.

Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT Prof Dr Abdur Rab presided over the prize giving ceremony. The event started with welcoming address by the Dean, College of Engineering and Technology Prof  Md Monirul Islam.  This was followed by speeches by notable guests like Engr Enamul Kabir, director of Bangladesh Computer Council (Training & Development), Prof Mohammad Kaykobad, head of the NCPC-2018 Steering Committee and special guest Prof Falguni Gupta - Regional Contest Director of ACM ICPC (India)
