Woman ‘commits suicide’
 A septuagenarian woman of an ethnic minority community allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a tree at Bangpur in Rajshahi on Sunday. The deceased was Rabon Murmo, 75, wife of late Gonesh Murmo, a resident of the village.Sub-Inspector of Godagari Police Station Asadul Haque said Rabon Murmo committed suicide by hanging herself with a tree near her house around 11 am. The cause of the suicide could not be known immediately. On information, police recovered the body. Officer-in-charge of Godagari Police Station SM Abu Forhad said a case of unnatural death was filed in this connection.

Water supplying ship sinks
A water-supplying vessel of Chittagong Port capsized at the number 13 jetty on Sunday morning. Captain Nazmul Alam, deputy conservator of Chittagong Port, said a ship 'MV Mashuk', was deployed for supplying water to other ships and anchored at the port sank around 5 am on Sunday. All the crews were rescued from the place of occurrence and an investigation started to trace out the reason of sinking, he added. He said port operations have not been affected due to sinking of ship and the rescue team of Chittagong port has started their drives to rescue the capsized ship.

Vehicle for Hajj pilgrims

PRAN Frooto is providing transport facilities to the Hajj pilgrims from Haji Camp to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. Atikur Rahman, head of marketing of PRAN Beverage Limited said that Frooto is providing bus and microbus for the pilgrims and the facilities will continue till the last hajj flight. Over one lakh pilgrims will perform Hajj this year from Bangladesh, said a press release on Monday.
