Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday asked the Special Security Force (SSF) personnel to remain alert so that she does not get isolated from the mass people for whom she does politics, reports UNB. "I work for people... if we get detached from the people for whom we do politics then our lives will become meaningless," she said.

Sheikh Hasina said this while addressing a function marking the 32th founding anniversary of SSF at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). She asked the SSF personnel to remain aware so that her contact with the general people is not hindered as they are the centre of all power of the republic.

"As we're the public representatives, we've to go to people after every five years... we're accountable to people, you've to remain alert so that we can continue our  intensive communication with the mass people," the PM said.

In this connection, Sheikh Hasina asked them to maintain their professionalism, discipline and rules.

"In the politics we do here, people are the nucleus of all power; our politics is just for people, my aim is to keep the people of the country in good condition ...we'll have to ensure their all sorts of welfare," she said.

The Prime Minister asked the SSF members to coordinate between the desires of people and discharging of their duties.

Hasina said the activities of the anti-liberation forces and terrorists made the security of the country more challenging and the SSF members will have to accomplish their responsibilities carefully with efficiency and considering the challenges.

She mentioned that the security of those engaged in ensuring her security is also very important. "And for that, the government has been providing necessary and modern equipment to create a strong security net."

Hasina various steps have been taken to make SSF as a very smart and time-befitting force in terms of their high human resource, technological excellence, loyalty and professionalism.

In the era of high technological advancement, the Prime Minister said, every security force, including the SSF, will have to discharge their responsibility of ensuring security showing outmost alertness.

The Prime Minister directed the SSF members to remain always careful and ready with all necessary technological preparations to accomplish responsibilities with integrity and face any challenge and situation.

Hasina mentioned that the criminals also become experts with the passage of time and technology exchange.

Keeping this in mind, Hasina said, her government has ensured necessary training for the SSF members and technical infrastructures for the force.

Earlier, Director General of SSFMajor General Md Shafiqur Rahman delivered the welcome address.

The chiefs of the three services, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, PMO Secretary, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister and other senior officials of the PMO were present.
