Ex-football stars reiterate call for removal of BFF general secretary

Sports Reporter

Former football stars organised a demonstration in front of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) yesterday demanding the removal of Abu Nayeem Shohag, general secretary of the BFF.

The former booters organized the gathering against Shohag protesting for threatening to Badal Roy, the former national star and the vice-president of the BFF early last month asking him not to come to BFF office. The BFF GS reacted after Badal, who is also the chairman of BFF development committee asked for money provided by FIFA for the development of the game in Bangladesh. Earlier of last month, the footballers submitted a letter to the BFF president Kazi Md Salahuddin to release Shohag but BFF president and the executive body did not take any action.

The dejected former booters, who made the demonstration at the main gate of the BFF, said that if the BFF executives would not implement their demand they will organize the demonstration across the country.

Captain of the Swadhin Bangla Football Team, Zakaria Pintu, Golam Sarwar Tipu, Wahiduzzaman Pintu, Gaffar,  Bablu, Ashrafuddin Chunnu, SK Aslam, Jony, Abul, Selim, Md Sultan, Arman Meah, A Jalil, Salahuddin, Shamim were among others attended the gathering.
