AL to accord mass reception to Hasina Jul 21

The ruling Awami League (AL) will accord a mass reception to its party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on July 21 for her excellent role in developing the country.  The mass reception will be held at the historic Shurawardy Udyan at 3:00pm. The ruling party general secretary Obaidul Quader made the announcement on Sunday at a press briefing after holding a joint meeting with the party’s central leaders at the party’s newly built central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the city .

“Our astute leader Sheikh Hasina will be accorded a mass reception for attaining the eligibility of Bangladesh to graduate to a developing nation, the launching of Bangabandhu Satellite-I, Sheikh Hasina’s achievement of the Global Women’s Leadership Award and the

receiving of the D. Litt degree from Kazi Nazrul University in India,” Quader said.

Insiders said the party had made massive preparations to make the programme a success. A stage and decoration sub-committee has been formed under the leadership of State Minister for Textiles and Jute Miraza Azam and State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid.

The members of the central executive committee, leader of the party’s Dhaka City units, president and general secretaries of the associate organizations of the party and leaders of the districts adjacent to Dhaka attended the meeting.

Presidium member Mohammad Abdur Razzaque, Sahara Khatun, Abdul Matin Khasru, joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, central leaders Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Biplab Barua and others attended the press briefing.
