25 injured in Jhenaidah AL factional clash

At least 25 people, including two women, were injured in a factional clash between two rivals of the ruling Awami League. The clash took place at Bhatbaria village of Sarutia union in Shailkupa yesterday morning.

The injured were rushed to Shailkkupa upazila health complex and Jhenidah Sadar hospital, the police said.

Senior assistant superintendent of police of Shailkupa circle Tarek Al Mehedi said there had been a long term rivalry between former ward member Aziur Rahman and Afzal Hossain of Bhatbaria village. Both groups engaged in clash following a trifling matter.

On July 1, both the groups were locked in clash which left three people injured. At least seven houses were vandalized during the time.

Following the incident, both the groups once again locked in fierce class with sharp and lethal weapons on Saturday morning.

Condition of injured Mokter Hossain was stared to be critical.
