Rotary Governor AFM Alamgir yesterday announced Welfare Programme through a press conference on the occasion of Rotary Year Launching 2018-19 at the National Press Club in the capital yesterday, says a press release.

Former Governor FH Arif, Zainul Abedin, Shamsul Huda, Rotarian Mansur Alam, Deputy Governor Abul Khair Chowdhury, Cosmopolitan President, Tofazzel Patowary also spoke at the conference.

It was attended by district secretary Abdul Malek, Shahidul Bari, Mutasim Billah Faruqi and other leaders. Governor said “Rotary Welfare activities will expand gradually all over the country”.

He unveiled his plans for the organisation at the conference for next year.

The programme, includes promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mother and children, supporting education, poverty eradication, growing local economics, creating awareness of drug-abuse, cancer, HIV AIDs, Hepatitis B&C, breast-feeding and tree plantation across the country.

Rotary will also work for enhancing the facilities of youths and equipped them with necessary skills for their employment.
