Case filed over city AL leader murder

A case has been filed with Badda police station in connection with local Awami League leader Farhad killing, reports UNB. Farhad Hossain, 52, general secretary of Badda union Awami League, was gunned down by armed men just after he came out of Baitus Salam-Jam-e- Mosque of North Badda after offering juma prayer on June 15. Morshida Begum, wife of the victim, filed the case with Badda police station yesterday, said Officer-in-charge of the police station Kazi Wajed.

He said four people were named, while several others unnamed were mentioned in the First Information Report (FIR) of the case, the OC said. Police have already started investigation to arrest the perpetrators soon after the incident occurred, he added.

Two criminals riding a motorcycle came to the spot and opened fire on Farhad and fled the scene leaving him on a pool of blood.

He sustained bullet wounds in his head and chest. He was taken to United Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
