Minister asks for patience to get uninterrupted power

UNB

State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid urged the people to be patient to get a load-shedding free power supply, reports UNB. "It will take time to get a load-shedding free power supply as the whole supply network needs to go underground", he said while exchanging Eid greeting with reporters at his office in the Power and Energy Ministry yesterday.

The comments from the state minister came against the backdrop of reports of power interruption at different areas across the country during Eid holidays and also during the season of World Cup Football.

He said the whole issue is a time-consuming and costly matter. The distribution substations are required to be updated to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Admitting power disruption at different areas, Nasrul Hamid said the government has been making its efforts to ensure load shedding free power supply.

"But consumers want uninterrupted power supply from day one of getting a connection. It's not always possible for distribution entities", he said. He said the government has been successful in power generation. Now the target is ensuring load-shedding free power supply".
