Stale biscuit distributed among school children

OUR CORRESPONDENT, Patuakhali

Several students fell sick after taking stale biscuits at the Kuakata Government Primary School on Wednesday.  The authorities have seized eight cartons of date-expired biscuits from the school storage after the incident. Sagar Molla, president of school management committee and president of Juba League of Kuakata municipality unit, confiscated the biscuit from school storage in presence of the agitated guardians.  When contacted with Nazmus Sakib Khan Kona, headmaster of the school, said one school peon has unknowingly distributed the biscuit among children. Later, the biscuits were removed. Sagar Molla said this incident has happened due to lack of responsibility of the school authorities.  Kalapara UNO Zahangir Hossain admitting the fact said: “Police are investigating the matter.”
