BFF thinks coach Jamie is ‘perfect’ for Bangladesh

The newly appointed Bangladesh national football team’s coach Jamie Day will join in the first week of June when the residential camp of the team with 41-man preliminary squad will begin from May 26.

Kazi Nabil Ahmed, chairman of the National Committee (NTC) said yesterday that he has every confident of the new coach and said that Jamie will be the perfect man to handle the Bangladesh national side. The BFF initially agreed to sign a one year contract with Jamie Day. During the period he will supervise the national team for Asian Games and SAFF Championship.

In a press conference held yesterday at the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) office, Kazi Nabil, when replying to queries of the reporters about the standard and the ability of the newly appointed coach detailed all about the coach.

Whether the British coach is right choice, despite having no experiences handling or working in any team in this (South Asian) region or Asia, Nabil said, “As I met him and talked to him in London, as my belief and I am confident he is the appropriate choice for our country.”      

“We have huge experiences with working with the experienced working in our region and Asia, to me, I think he is a different, this time we are trying in different ways, Nabil revealed.

Nabil, also the vice-president of the BFF  about the experiences and the level of the coach said, “As he has experiences handling and working with English football team, might be the lower division but his great advantage is, he played in the England’s national age group teams - Under-15, 16, 17 and Under-18.”
