Rajshahi division topped the medal table in archery discipline of First Bangladesh Youth Games with three gold and two silver medals. The two-day archery events were held at Saheed Ahasanullah Master Stadium in Gazipur.

Md Mishad of Chittagong clinched the boys’ individual gold when he beat Towhid of Rajshahi by 7-3 sets in the final. Talha Zubair Tanvir of Chittagong took the bronze defeating Md Ibrahim Sheikh of Dhaka by 7-3 sets.

The girls’ individual title went to  Rabeya Khatun of Rajshahi. She beat her teammate Mosammat Radia Akhter Shapla by 6-4 in the final. However Radia Akhter Shapla pairing with Towhid brought the second gold for Rajshahi in mixed doubles event.

Md Ibrhaim  Sheikh Rizawan,  Md Shakib Mollah and Md Ashraf Mollah bagged the lone goal for Dhaka in boys’ team event, while Radia Akhtar Shapla, Rabeya Khatun and Humayira won the third gold for Rajshahi.

Meanwhile, Ariful Islam of Dhaka Division stole the show of the second day

 when he finished with winning five gold medals participating in five events in the swimming.

Rajshahi Division finished on top on third day with winning 24 gold, 17 silver and 20 bronze followed by Chittagong Division won 21 gold, 19 silver and 35 bronze medals when Khulna closely following the Chittagong with 20 gold, 17 silver and 16 bronze medals.  

Ariful, who won two gold medals in the first day, grabbed another three yesterday in the last of swimming competition.
