Hundreds of bird lovers thronged to the Exotic Birds Show 2018 at the National Press Club premises on the weekend to watch birds of different species under one shed,

reports UNB.

Visitors were enthralled by tweeting of birds which were trying to fly away from inside big cages and bird lovers were snapping pictures and selfies with those while curious children kept beholding at the colourful foreign birds with excessive interest.

Avicultual Society of Bangladesh arranged the two day-long 9th Exotic Birds Show 2018 with the slogan "Rear cage-born birds, let the wild birds to live in forest" (Khachai Pushun Khachar Pakhi, Boner

Pakhi Thakuk Bone).

At least 300 foreign birds of 70 species were being displayed at the show which remained open for all from 10 am to 8 pm on Friday and will continue on Saturday. A bird lover, Ayesha Siddiqa who came from city's Shidheshawry along with her family said, "Bird rearing is my hobby and every year I come here to see different types of birds from different countries of the world."

She said that her children also love to see the birds here.

"The organisation has a motto to preserve wild birds by encouraging bird lovers of rearing cage-born birds instead of forest birds," said Dr Amzad Chowdhury, exhibition's convener .
