Bangladesh came from behind to down Malaysia by 2-1 matches in the Bangladesh-Malaysia Friendship Tennis Tournament first-leg at the National Tennis Complex.
Naufal Siddiq Bin Kamruzzaman gave Malaysia an early lead winning the first singles match 6-3, 5-7, 6-0 against Amol Roy of Bangladesh. Mamun Bepari drew level for Bangladesh beating Talhah Bin Mohamad Rahizam 6-3, 6-3 in the second singles match.
Finally Amol and Mamun won the paired match 6-2, 7-5 against Muhammad Aiman Bin Hamdan and Azrul Bin Azman of Malaysia. The second-leg tie will be played at Uttara Club tennis court at 9am in the capital.
Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon inaugurated the first tie yesterday at chief guest.
