Tauhidul Islam

A madrasa boy, allegedly beaten up unmercifully by one of his teachers in Bhaluka upazila, succumbed to his injuries at National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) at noon in the capital yesterday.  The deceased was identified as Tauhidul Islam, 11, son of Kawsar Ahmed of Panchgaon village in Bhaluka. He was hefz student (memorising Quran) at Umar Faruq (RA) Hafizia Kinder Garden Madrasa at Jamirdia area in the upazila.

Aminul Islam, the teacher of the madrasa, beat him up mercilessly on Tuesday last as he failed preparing his lessons in time, said Md Mamun-or-Rashid, officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Police Station.

The teacher arranged for treatment hiding the beating incident but had to inform his family when the situations went beyond control and provided some wrong information to his family about the injuries, said the OC.

After treatments in several hospitals and health complexes, the boy died at 12pm yesterday in Dhaka. The body was sent for autopsy to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

A case was field with Bhaluka Police station accusing Aminul Islam and Enamul Haque, the madrasa head. Police detained Enamel while Aminul is hiding to escape the arrest.
