BSS

RANGPUR: Special Envoy to the Prime Minister and Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Alhaj Hussein Muhammad Ershad yesterday said his party would do everything for the development of Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC), reports BSS. “We will continue our efforts to ensure development of all areas of Rangpur city in future,” Ershad said while addressing a views-sharing meeting with the newly elected Mayor and Councilors of RpCC at its conference room here as the chief guest.

With City Mayor Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa in the chair, Co-chairman of JP Golam Muhammad Quader, it's Secretary General Ruhul Amin Hawlader, Presidium Members Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu and major (Retd) Khalid, State Minister for PGRD and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga, addressed the meeting as special guests.

City Councilors Tauhidul Islam and Aminur Rahman delivered the welcome speech narrating the overall situation of RpCC, its development scenario, problems and prospects with necessary suggestions.

Ershad said the Shyamasundari canal was re-excavated considering the health hazard faced by the local people and to prevent water-logging in the region.

“There are many places in Rangpur city area where the roads are yet to be built and power yet to be provided,” Ershad said adding that steps would be taken for ensuring smooth development in the whole RpCC area in future.
