Four killed, six hurt in road accidents

COX'S BAZAR:  At least four people were killed and five others injured in a road accident in Harbang Goyalmara area on the Cox's Bazar-Chittagong highway yesterday morning, reports BSS.

Chittagong Highway police sources said the accident occurred when a private car from Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar collided head-on with a passenger bus of 'Shyamoli Paribahan' in the area, leaving four people dead on the spot and wounding five others.The deceased were Ali Akbar, 30, car driver Jainul Abedin, 22, Shahab Uddin, 19, and Mohammad Mamun, 21.

Chakaria thana OC Bakhtiar Uddin Chowdhury said the injured were taken to Chakaria hospital for treatment. Later, they were shifted to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.

In another accident, motorcycle rider Ripon, 22, was seriously injured when  a three-wheeler, collided head-on with his motorcycle in Malughat area of Chakaria upazila.
