‘Tigers to face a big challenge in SL’

Sports Reporter

Bangladesh local coach Mohammad Salahuddin on Wednesday said that faring well in the upcoming Nidahas T20 Tri-series in Sri Lanka will be very big challenging for Bangladesh. Salahuddin also said that the skills and techniques they have achieved in T20 that’s not enough to do well in this shorter format of games against the teams the likes of India and Sri Lanka.

“In this era, it should not be right to use any excuse that we didn’t play against any team or don’t know them properly because every team equally knows opponent’s strength and weakness due to the welfare of technologies,” said Mohamamd Salahuddin, who coached for Gazi Group Cricketers in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL).

“India obviously is very good team. They are well-balanced in batting, bowling and fielding. For us, doing well in T20 will be very challenging because we have problems every where from physical structure to power hitting. Even, we’ve problems in skill level and even in bowling,” Salahuddin told media.

“For this, T20 is always a challenge for us. We should have thought much over it how we could do well in this format of games,” he added.

The coach thinks that the performance of the team’s senior most players will be imperative if they could perform properly that will be key for the team what are always for the team.

“The team’s balance will be better if Shakib can bat. Along with that, if Tamim could be fully fit, the batting will then become in the original level,” he viewed. “I think the five senior most players we have they have more responsibility for the team.”
