President M Abdul Hamid left Dhaka for Singapore yesterday night for medical checkup, reports BSS.
"A regular aircraft of Singapore airlines, carrying the President, took off from Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport at 11.55 pm," President's Press Secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin told.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, dean of the diplomatic corps, cabinet secretary, principle secretary of Prime Minister's Office, chiefs of the three services, foreign secretary, inspector general of police and high civil and military officials concerned saw him off at the airport.
President's spouse Rashida Khanam and concerned officials to the Bangabhaban are accompanying him during the tour.
During his six-day visit, Abdul Hamid is scheduled to have his health checkup at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and eye treatment at Singapore National Eye Centre.
The President is expected to return home on February 27, the press secretary added.
