Man dies from electrocution

At least 15 passengers were injured when a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Lahirikandi area of sadar upazila yesterday morning.

At that time, Gol Mahmed, 28, son of Ziaul Haque at village Mohanpur Beparipara, electrocuted when he touched a torn live electric wire, according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence officials.

The accident occurred on Mymensingh-Jamalpur road around 5:30 am when the bus hit an electric poll as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving 15 people injured.

Being informed, the Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured passengers and sent them to Jamalpur General Hospital.
