Ride sharing application Chalo will introduce block chain technologies in its service strengthening data protection, reports UNB

Blockchain involves a shared electronic ledger that allows all parties to track information through a secure network, removing the need for third-party verification.

USA-based firm Aphaea Capital will provide technical support to the Bangladeshi ride sharing service.

Chalo Chief Executive Officer Dewan Shuvo announced their initiative on block chain at a seminar at Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) in Dhaka recently, said a press release yesterday.

USA-based technology expert Paul Bryzek and Aphaea Capital founder Mir Haque were, among others, present on the occasion.

Organisers informed that block chain technology will enable digital economic identity, transform healthcare, transportation, payment micro lending, remittance and many others industries according to a news release.

USA-based technology expert Paul Bryzek said Blockchain technology can bring huge changes in the digital sector in the country.

The application of this technology has already been seen in Estonia and Dubai. According to a research, the international market of the sector is around 380 billion US dollars.

Chalo CEO Dewan Shuvo said the new trend of technology will reduce cost. The driver and the passengers will benefit by applying this method.

Aphaea Capital founder Mir Haque termed block chain as a new type of Internet, which can change the world, reduce poverty, reduce unemployment, and even mobile banking can be safe.

Haque also appreciated Block chain-based services with local entrepreneurs and talented students in Bangladesh.
