Six killed in road crashes

Six people including an Indian national were killed and 30 other injured in two separate road accidents in Faridpur on Tuesday. A motorbike carrying an Indian national from Jessore suddenly rammed into a bus of Eagle Paribahan at Dhuldi Rail Gate on Dhaka-Faridpur Highway in Sadar upazila at 11:00 am. The bus driver lost control and hit against a roadside tree, killing three and injuring 30 passengers.

The deceased were identified as Indian national Shushanto Mallik (40), bus driver Masud Rana (36), and supervisor Imdadul Islam (40), the bus was going to Dhaka from Jossore, Faridpur fire service station manager Md. Saifuzzaman said. Faridpur Kotwali Police Station confirmed the news.

Three people were killed at Brahmonpara on Bhanga-Barisal Highway in Bhanga upazila around the same time in the morning when a brick loaded pickup hit another truck killing two people on the spot and another died on way to hospital. The deceased were pickup truck driver Chan Mia (26), Milon Molla (22) of Shib Char upazila, Madaripur, Rinku Bhuiyan (28) of Narsingdi, police said.
