Inu seeks views of ATCO members

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday urged people concerned for submitting their respective opinions about the Digital Security Act in written to his ministry. He was addressing a meeting with Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO) members at his secretariat office. Inu also said that written opinions will be placed before the lawmakers in parliament at appropriate time. The minister also said that the ATCO members should file their written recommendations regarding any of the clauses of the draft act, if they find anything objectionable, to the information ministry.
 “The ministry will discuss the issues with the relevant authorities and try to accommodate your recommendations if possible,” the minister said.
The minister also said that they discussed the chronology and placement of TV channels based on the dates of their respective inception.
Among others, ATCO President Salman F Rahman, also the vice chairman of the Beximco Group, addressed the programme.
He said the private television channel owners have been facing different problems with their respective organisations and that the information minister has assured to take necessary measures to resolve those.
