BSS

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu

yesterday said Bangladesh is the best attractive destination for investment in South Asia as the government is providing all sorts of facilities for foreign investors to invest in the country, reports BSS.

“Bangladesh ensures the highest safety and protection for foreign investors. The government is providing 12 years tax holiday for developers of the Economic Zones (EZs) and Hi-Tech Park, while 10 years tax holiday for investors in the EZs,” he said while presiding the session on “Investment Opportunity in Bangladesh” at Assam in India, said a press release here.

The session was organised marking the international investment conference on “Advantage Assam.”

Senior Vice President of the Federation of the Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Sheikh Fazle Fahim delivered a presentation on the existing investment scenario of Bangladesh.

Among others, representatives of Bangladeshi businesses and industries attended the discussion.

Later, Amir Hossain Amu delivered a speech at another plenary session, titled ‘North East Economic Ties with ASEAN and BBN.’

During his speech, the minister said Bangladesh is located at a strategically important place for transporting goods in India and ASEAN region as Bangladesh and India shares long international border.

“The motor vehicle agreement, among Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and India, has created uninterrupted opportunities for transits and transporting passengers and goods,” he added.

He expressed the hope that the agreement will play a vital role to create economic integration for the South Asian countries.
