Khaleda likely to start polls campaign from Sylhet

UNB

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is likely to start party's election campaign from Sylhet before a special court is set to pronounce its verdict in a graft case against her, reports UNB. "Our Chairperson is likely to visit Sylhet on Monday to offer fateha at the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (R)," BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said. Meanwhile, BNP secretary general Mirza FakhrulIslam Alamgir said they are making such plan but it is not confirmed yet.

"We shall formally inform media shortly about our decision", he added. The BNP leader came up with the remarks during party national executive committee meeting at Hotel Le Meridian in the morning. The Special Court-5 in Dhaka on Thursday fixed February 8 to deliver its verdict in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case filed against Khaleda and five others. Khaleda will be disqualified for the next general election if she is convicted in the case.
