Four killed in road crashes

Two non-government organisation (NGO) workers and two youth were killed in separate road crashes in Faridpur, Thakurgaon and Satkhira yesterday morning.

Our Faridpur correspondent reports, field officer of Faridpur Development Agency (FDA) Rikta Akthar, 25, also a resident of Sadipur area of the town, died and another sustained injuries as a truck hit their motorbike near Tepura Kandi area of the town in the morning.

Md Shahin, sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station, said the truck hit the motorbike around 9:30 am, leaving Rikta and Panna Akthar injured. Rikta was declared dead when she was taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, he said.

Meanwhile, in Thakurgaon, a field officer of Eco Social Development Organisation (ESDO) was killed as a speedy truck hit his motorbike around 8 am, reports UNB.

The diseased was identified as Jahangir Alam, 40, of Chowdhuripara village in Haripur upazila.

In Satkhira, two motorcyclists were killed as a bus crashed into their bike at Chuknagar in Tala upazila yesterday afternoon. The deceased were identified as Bappi Hossain, 27, and Ataur Rahman, 30, of Shekhpara village in Khulna.
