Mohammedan Sporting Club kept their unbeaten run for the sixth match  in the Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League football when Arambagh KS forced them to make a 2-2 draw yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

By virtue of snatching one point, the relegation threatened Arambagh lifted their tally to 17 points and also brightened their hopes to get out from the relegation.    

Mohammedan, the  strugglers of the first-leg, made a strong comeback in the second leg and have been continuing the impressive show when it was their sixth match to remain unbeaten with three wins and as many draws that pushed them to eighth to fifth position leaving behind, Sheikh Russel and Team BJMC, who finished the first phase ahead of them.

However, Mohammedan Sporting Club led the match by 2-0 up to 70 minutes and were heading to grab their fourth win off last six matches, conceded two goals in the last 20 minutes.

Arambagh saw the draw back inside fourth minute trying to make offside trap when Nkowcha Kingsley found a through ball in an open space and beat the hapless goalkeeper with a placing shot (1-0).

For Arambagh it was must win situation to confirm their exit from the relegation zone but for most the first half they were under pressure when Mohammedan playing with almost full dominance.

Arambagh had a good opportunity to level the margin on 27th minute but Sumon Ali’s effort went over the cross bar.

Mohammedan began the second half with same fashion to keep Arambagh under pressure and doubled the margin inside four minutes of the second half and this time Linkon’s pin-pointed set piece from left corner found captain Emily and his header deflected a defender before going to top corner of the net when the goalkeeper was puzzled to miss  the line of the ball (2-0).

Arambagh, for whom three points were essential, trailing  by 0-2 and made a late comeback to equalise the match and  managed to snatch at least one point.

Sumon Ali reduced the first one on 71st minute when his header went into the net after hitting the far post (1-2).

Inspired by reducing one goal Aramabgh were playing with full control and also produced some good chances but Sahrier Bappi, Bokul and captain Sufian’s attempt were denied by goalkeeper or missed the targets. However, finally Bokula found the net with a an excellent sliding when an Inkaga powerful strike slept the keeper’s hands and Bokula was very much sharp to score goal on right 90th minute (2-2).
