Checklist for 2018

SAOOD BIN MASOOD
Checklist for 2018

Love them or hate them, making resolutions for the New Year, something of a tradition for most. Are you sure you have set your plans to become a happier person in 2018?  To start, in 2018 it can’t hurt to prioritize your health, since it’s the foundation of everything else that makes you feel good.

Drink more water
While you may not have to drink eight glasses a day, as per conventional wisdom, keeping hydrated is important not only to keep all of your organs functioning, it can also help you eat less.
Walk more
To motivate yourself even more, get a wearable activity tracker, step counter, or just use the step counter in your phone.
Sleep more
Let’s face it, you’re probably not getting the eight hours of sleep recommended by doctors. It’s hard to carve out time in our busy days, but it’s this is the kind of goal that can make you more alert and healthy in during your waking hours.
Learn to say no
Most adult Bangladeshis report being over-stressed. As per poll conducted this year by the nonprofit Families and Work Institute found that more than half of Bangladeshis employees say they feel overworked or overwhelmed. Take time for yourself and say no to things that you feel like you should do but don’t really want to is one way to cut down on stress levels. Just do it politely, maybe?
It’s hard for me to believe that any leader can inspire a more innovative organizational culture without themselves becoming a role-model!
This does not mean being “the source of ideas,” but, rather, being a supporter of innovation as a verb, characterizing the way we behave, rather than a noun.
In short, it’s not enough to speak of innovation as if it were solely a strategic or organizational attribute; we need to make innovation a personal responsibility as well.
Quote of the 1st Jan 2018
Great achievers are driven, not so much by the pursuit of success, but by the fear of failure. --Larry Ellison, Cofounder and CTO of Oracle.
In line with the quote, pick a dating app and force yourself to swipe for 10 minutes a day. When you make a match, dare yourself to send the first message. It's a great way to start testing the waters of getting out there.
Because if you're really trying to put yourself out there, why not just go for it all the way? While I learned a lot from these lengthy experiences, I also sort of wished I had just asked these people out sooner in our friendship, so I could have figured out if we were compatible sooner and without the massive crush of months leading up to it.
The holidays and new year are great reminders that life flies by. (Sorry to be a grinch.)
Trust your friends! Trust is a mutual process. We need to provide trust to receive trust from a friend, community and Organization.
