‘Idiot’ unites three young actresses together

Three popular actresses of the recent times, Mousumi Hamid, Shabnam Faria and Tonmoy have acted together in a drama serial for the first time. The trio will be seen appearing in the drama serial titled ‘Idiot’, scripted and directed by Sumon Anwar. DhakaLive has news that the shooting of the new drama has already been started in the capital’s Uttara.

“The production of the drama serial is moving forward with the stories of people who are lagging behind in our society. We call them ‘special child’. However, they are really special than the normal people. Yet many call them 'idiot'. Nevertheless, we are the individuals who are the real 'idiots' as we could not comprehend their speciality”, said director Sumon Anwar about the story of the drama serial.

Mousumi Hamid, who is portraying the character of Mou in the drama, said, “It feels really nice working in the drama serial. Sumon Anwar’s work is always different. I am very hopeful about the project. Though this is not a comedy drama fully, it still contains the elements of comedy.”

Shabnam Faria is enacting the role of Shefa and she said, “For the first time, I am working under the direction of Sumon Anwar. I am enjoying his direction very much. I always thought he might be a serious person, but he proved me wrong once I started working with him. He is really a friendly person and he makes sure a comfortable atmosphere for the artistes during the work. The story the drama serial really mesmerised me.”

Tonmoy, who is playing as Ira, said, “Earlier, I worked in Sumon Anwar’s drama serial ‘Swarnalata’. I was scared of him at the beginning, but I found out him to be a jolly person after I involved myself in his project. However, he is quite different in work that I must say.”

Among others, Shahidul Alam Sachchu, Monira Mithu, Sajjad and Tanvir are playing different roles in the drama serial.

‘Idiot’ will be aired on a satellite television channel soon, Sumon Anwar informed. l
