Arambagh avoid relegation

Arambagh Krira Sangha bagged three valuable points to avoid relegation in the Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League football defeating Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 2-0 yesterday.

Held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Sohel Rana and Rajon Meah scored one goal each inside 10 minutes of the game.

After winning the match Arambagh pushed their tally to 14 points from as many matches with four wins and two draws.

But after the defeat, Muktijoddha KC, the former league champions are in deep trouble, as they are now facing  relegation threat with eight points from 14 matches.

In the battle to avoid relegation threat was very competitive when both the sides played offensive approach but Arambagh, scoring two successive goals in a span of three minutes inside 10 minutes of the game earned the valuable three points.

Sohel Rana opened the net in the very third minute which was almost a gifted goal, as Muktijoddha’s Saidul Haque’s header on a Robiul Hassan ordinary cross hit the corner of the goal post and the ball came to Sohel Rana, who just pushed the ball into net (1-0).

Arambagh kept the momentum and doubled the margin on seventh minute and this time it also a bit Muktis’ defender’s blunder as Rajon Meah was left fully free inside the area and he had no trouble to volleyed home on a captain Abu Sufian cross (2-0).

Rest of the game was fought almost evenly but none of the teams could find net further when Muktijoddha have chances two score goals when they were very closer with huge pressure in the last ten minutes.
