7 killed, 20 hurt in Gopalganj road accident

GOPALGANJ: Seven persons were killed and 20 others injured in a road accident in Bedgram area on Dhaka-Khulna highway at 8pm on Saturday night, reports BSS.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Selim Reza told BSS on Saturday that the accident occurred when a Pirojpur bound passenger bus hit  a truck, leaving one dead on the spot and 25 injured.

Among the injured, five people died on the way to hospital and another  succumbed to his injuries at Gopalganj General Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Younus Khan, 47, of Kathi village of Gopalganj sadar upazila, Babul, son of Fakir Uddin of Komlapur village of  Muksudpur upazila, Shahin Morel of Moroldanga village of Bagerhat district,  his son Mahin Mondal, 5, Mamun, 30, son of Badiuzamman Makul, Ripon Khan, 30,
