Tauquir’s ‘Haldaa’ releases across country today

National Film Award winning director Tauquir Ahmed’s much-awaited film ‘Haldaa’ is all set to hit cinemas today. The film will be released in 100 cinema halls across the country. Moreover, the film will also be released in 16 countries on December 8. The film has brought an array of talented casts together, which includes Mosharraf Karim, Zahid Hasan, Nusrat Imrose Tisha and Fazlur Rahman Babu, Dilara Zaman, Shahed Ali, Runa Khan and others.

Why the viewers should watch the film? Tauquir Ahmed answered, “‘Haldaa’ is a Bangladeshi film, which has an original story. The film speaks about the river and river protection. At the same time, ‘Haldaa’ is also a love story. There is a story of a woman too with the story of the river. The river and the woman are the basic ideas of the film. The subject of the film is rural Bangladesh as well as the presentation of ‘Haldaa’ is creative and musical.”

“The film will serve enough food for thought alongside offering a colourful presentation to the viewers. If the viewers go to the cinema hall to watch the film, they will not be disappointed”, he added.

The film’s story is written by Azad Bulbul, while the screenplay of the film came from director Tauquir Ahmed himself. The intense drama film is set against the backdrop of the river Halda situated in Chittagong. The river Halda is considered to be the country's largest natural fertility breeding centre of fishes. Mother fisheries lay their eggs here in April or June in new moon or full moon. In the story, the river and its nature, the soil erosion by the rivers and the flow and complicated life of the people living on the river bed have been highlighted the most.

Pinto Ghosh has directed the music of the film, while Ripon Nath designed the sound. Abhi Kathachitra is distributing the film across the country.
