The deceased was identified as Riad, 12, a sixth grader of Nilkkhi High School of the upazila and son of Siraj Miah of the village. The abductors called Babul Miah, the owner of the easy-bike, with a mobile phone belonging to Riad and demanded Tk 70,000 as ransom.

Following their phone call and demand of ransom the family members informed the matter to Muradnagar Police Station.

Later police arrested three abductors when they along with family members went to the abductors to meet their demand at a banana orchard in Uttarthrish village of Mauradnagar upazila.

Police seized the easy-bike from the spot.
