Two sisters hacked to death

Police recovered the bodies of two sisters in Jamalpur sadar upazila yesterday morning.

The victims were identified as Bhabna Khatun, 14 and her younger sister Nurunnahar Lubna, 10, daughters of Shamim Miah, an expatriate in Malaysia of village Dewlabari in Jamalpur sadar upazila.

According to police sources, unknown criminals hacked Bhabna, a student of class IX and Lubna, a student of class IV to death at their house early yesterday.

Their mother Taslima was not at home at that time.

Officer-in-charge of Jamalpur police station Rashed said reason behind the killings could not be known immediately. He said a team of CID will conduct the investigation.

Police recovered the bodies and sent it to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Superintendent of Police Md Delwar Hossain visited the spot.
