The nation is observing the first-ever National Public Service Day across the country today, reports UNB.
On the occasion, the government will distribute for only the second time 'Public Administration Award'-2017 among some officials and employees as well as institutions in recognition of their significant and innovative work in public administration.
Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages to mark the day.
In a message, Abdul Hamid said the government has taken various initiatives, including the creation of training opportunity for its employees at home and abroad, promotion in proper time, increased salary and other allowances, to transform the3 civil sc the civil service as public-friendly and public welfare service.
"I believe, the civil service will be easier and development-oriented by inventing new technology in future," the President said.
In a message, Sheikh Hasina said various-term trainings have been arranged in home and abroad for increasing capacity of civil service members in a bid to reach the service to the doorstep of the people."
There is no alternative to innovative and sustainable technology in various sectors to providing served service to people easily and rapidly."
